Claudia Padovani is senior lecturer in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Padova (Italy) where she teaches courses in International Communication and Politics of the Global Societies. Her main areas of interest concern the transformation of political processes in the global context and their connection to the evolution of communication dynamics and technologies, with a special focus on gender, communication rights and social justice. She recently co-edited Communication Rights and Global Justice: Historical accounts of transnational mobilizations (Palgrave 2014). Padovani is amongst the funders of the Mapping Global Media Policy digital platform and of the Next Generation Global Studiesinitiative. She co-chairs the Working Group on Global Media Policy at the IAMCR, where she is also involved with the Task Force on Communication Policy and the Unesco-promoted Global Alliance on Media and Gender.
The Commission organised multi-stakeholder discussions between 23 February and 4 March 2021 - in the form of four online meetings - to collect input feeding into the preparation of the Guidance for strengthening the Code of Practice on Disinformation, as a follow-up to the European Democracy Action Plan.
