ICPC at the 2nd REMIT Conference
Mauro Santaniello and Chiara Spiniello have taken part in two panels at the Annual Conference of the Horizon Europe project REMIT, “Regulating Strategic Technologies: Global Governance, Geopolitics and Individual Rights”, held at LUISS Università di Roma.
The Internet and Communication Policy Center (ICPC) has taken part in the 2nd REMIT Conference, the Annual Conference of the REMIT project, held on 15 and 16 April 2026 at LUISS Università di Roma.
Mauro Santaniello (University of Salerno) has spoken in the panel “Human Rights and Digital Governance”, while Chiara Spiniello (University of Salerno / University of Bremen) has spoken in the panel “Digital Autonomy and International Relations”. Both panels have been held on the second day of the conference.
Regulating strategic technologies: global governance, geopolitics and individual rights
REMIT, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, addresses the regulation of strategic technologies from a multilevel perspective. Its scope ranges from the macro level of global governance and international security to the micro level of individual human rights and ethical concerns within domestic society.
The two-day conference has brought together scholars and experts from REMIT and non-REMIT partner institutions in Italy, Europe and the United States to share multidisciplinary perspectives on digital technologies. The programme has included two keynote lectures by Paolo Benanti and Chris Weible, a roundtable on Europe’s regulatory challenges in the digital domain, and three thematic panels on the geopolitics of strategic technology governance, human rights and digital governance, and digital autonomy and international relations.
Two panels, two ICPC voices
ICPC researchers have contributed to the second day of the conference, devoted to human rights, digital governance, digital autonomy and international relations.
