Three days of International Relations research in Würzburg
The conference has brought together over 250 participants in 54 panels and 16 roundtables. Many contributions have focused on growing geopolitical rivalry and the conflicts that come with it, and on the future of multilateralism and of the EU. Others have addressed specific policy fields, international security, global climate policy, digitalisation and the influence of artificial intelligence on global governance.
The programme has also included a public roundtable on research freedom, “IR research in turbulent times: how free is it (still)?”, a roundtable of the Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen (ZIB) on “The Gaza war and (German) IR”, and the ZIB Best Paper Award for early-career researchers. The conference languages have been German and English.
