Mauro Santaniello (PhD in Communication Sciences) is a Researcher at the Department of Political, Social and Communication Sciences of the University of Salerno. His research focuses on Internet governance, policy and regulation. He is Adjunct Professor of “Digital Policy” and he is head of research unit within a national project on digital democracy in Europe (FIRB), and a co-founder of the Internet & Communication Policy Center. He has published articles about political, economic and social effects of digital networks, developing an interdisciplinary perspective on these research topics.
The Commission organised multi-stakeholder discussions between 23 February and 4 March 2021 - in the form of four online meetings - to collect input feeding into the preparation of the Guidance for strengthening the Code of Practice on Disinformation, as a follow-up to the European Democracy Action Plan.
