The Congress

The challenges of the constitutional State in a disintegrated system of international relations

Cuba CON-PARA 2026 has brought together legal scholars from Cuba, Italy, Spain and many other countries across Europe, Latin America and Africa to discuss the contributions of comparative law to the construction of a just society.

The opening session has featured greetings from Andry Matilla Correa (University of Havana), president of the congress, and from the presidents of the Italian comparative-law societies DPCE, AIDC and SIRD. The scientific programme has been organised around six thematic axes, from the classification of the forms of State and the welfare state to non-human legal personality and the role of legislators and judges, and has also included an extraordinary session celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Constitution of 1976.
