ICPC Participation at the Mediterranean Smart Cities Conference 2025 (MSCC 2025)

On 13 October 2025, Serena Fraiese, Research Fellow and member of the PRIN PNRR project team “The Digital Twin Technologies in Contemporary Public Administration”, represented the University of Salerno – Department of Business, Management and Innovation Systems (DISA-MIS) – at the Second Edition of the Mediterranean Smart Cities Conference (MSCC 2025) held in Tetouan and Martil (Morocco), under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The project, coordinated by Prof. Francesco Amoretti, Full Professor of Political Science at the University of Salerno and Principal Investigator, explores how Digital Twin technologies reshape innovation, governance, and regulatory frameworks in public administration.

In this framework, Serena Fraiese delivered a keynote presentation titled “Digital Twins and the Politics of Innovation in Morocco,” illustrating part of the project’s ongoing research. Her contribution analysed the Moroccan case as a paradigmatic example of how digital innovation intertwines with constitutional culture and national strategies of digital sovereignty, highlighting the interplay between institutional discourse, royal leadership, and smart governance in the Mediterranean context.
