We are proud to announce that Dr. Nicola Palladino, who is part of our Internet and Communication Policy Center (ICPC), participated in the Third Doctoral Summer School in Data Science, Accounting & Management at the University of Cambridge.
The summer school, titled “Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities, Perspectives, and Risks in Science and Technology, Biomedicine, Management and Economics, Political and Social Sciences, and Global Security,” ran from July 6–11, 2025. On Thursday, July 9, 2025, Dr. Palladino delivered a keynote lecture on “AI Governance and Regulation: Comparing EU, US, and China’s Models and Global Initiatives.”

About the Summer School
This interdisciplinary school brought together PhD students and leading experts to:
- Explore AI’s transformative potential and challenges across science, technology, biomedicine, management, social sciences, and global security;
- Critically analyse ethical, societal, and economic implications of AI applications;
- Learn advanced methodological frameworks for integrating AI into academic research;
- Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration to tackle AI-driven challenges; and
- Understand policy, governance, and security aspects of responsible AI deployment.
By the end of the week, participants were equipped with a balanced view of AI’s benefits and risks, as well as a strong network of peers and mentors from around the globe.
